If he'd rather have food than milk I certainly wouldn't add in anymore, in fact I'd look at reducing the amount of solids he is currently having if it is interfering with milk intake. Introducing solids is about getting them used to tastes and textures as a [i]compliment[/[i] to milk.
We always increased the amount DS2 was having before we added in a new 'meal'. So it looked something like this:
Week 1 = offer solids 2-3 times that week; no more than 1tsp
Week 2 = offer solids every day; no more than 1tsp
Week 3 = offer up to 1.5 tsp
Week 4 = offer up to 1 tbsp
Week 5 = attempt to introduce a 2nd 'meal', in the same week as Week 1
Week 6 = same as Week 2
Week 7 = same as Week 3
Week 8 = sames as Week 4
Week 9 = same as Weeks 1 & 5......
Milk was always given 45-60 minutes before solids; he was still having milk before breakfast right up until he weaned from bf at 18.5 months, but would have solids at lunch and dinner before milk from about 10.5 months.
